Booker Noe, grandson of Jim Beam and the creator of Booker’s Bourbon, once said, “I’d live in a rackhouse if they would let me.” If you are familiar with a rackhouse, also known as a rickhouse, then the name of this SF saloon alone will have your whiskey spirit doing backflips.

A rickhouse is a nine-story whiskey warehouse that holds 20,000 barrels of bourbon. Appropriately named, It makes sense that this San Francisco masterpiece has libations for every thirsty soul in the city. Two wooden doors lead you into cocktail heaven, where they’ve got whiskey stretching up from the rubber in your boot all the way to the vintage Edison light bulbs hanging from the ceilings. This two-story wooden sanctuary is decorated with old bourbon barrels, giving you the feeling of a real rickhouse.

Always keeping a fresh approach, Rickhouse slakes your thirst with limited-case whiskey, seasonal favorites, and the good ol’-fashioned classics. This is the spot you hit when you feel like trying something new, something different, something with rye, egg whites, maple syrup, and bitters. It’s called a Rye Maple Fizz, and it’s here waiting for you. After all, If this place had a bed, I think Booker Noe would have no problem moving in.
