If St. Petersburg–the Burg’ to locals–was a full court game of pick-up basketball, we’d tell you to run that ish’ back. With great beaches, blossoming beverage and dining industries, a flourishing street art scene, a rich variety of old haunts, dives and boutique shops, this must be the place. Over the past decade plus, the city has emerged as a can’t miss destination. Miami is glitz and glamor, but the Burg’ packs an impressive punch. Here’s our guide to exploring “The Sunshine City.”

If a crushable tropical vibe in the heart of the action is your thing, check out The Birchwood on Beach Drive. With killer views from The Canopy (equipped with cabana rentals), stylish digs, great downstairs dining with sidewalk seating, and a must-try Black Manhattan, look no further.
For something that dials back the luxury and dials up the funky fun, try The Hollander. There’s the Tap Room Bar and Grill Restaurant, Common ground coffee shop, and an outdoor pool complete with a full bar, food, and cabanas. And of course, there is the widely iconic Don CeSar.
