It’s finally here. Full admission, when our team hit play on the first visual trailer of Matt Reeves’ The Batman, no one was ready for it. We assumed the footage would start to Danny Elfman or Hans Zimmer styled horns and dramatic strings. Well, it doesn’t, and when the song choice reveals itself for this groundbreaking trailer (don’t worry, we won’t tell you the track), that’s when anyone watching will realize this film and Robert Pattison’s Batman is different, dark, and out for serious vengeance.
Gotham looks haunting, unsettled, and very unhinged. Paul Dano’s Riddler can’t be pointed out, but is somehow everywhere, Zoe Kravitz is Selena Kyle, and if you’re as addicted to this footage as much as we are, you might catch the unrecognizable Colin Farrell as Penguin, not to mention the stoic Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon—ok we’re done! Just hit play and hold on tight… but holy shit that Batmobile.
