In the furthest reaches of the world where temperatures rarely rise above freezing and the water is almost always covered in ice, motor two Russian icebreakers. The 50 Years of Victory and Yamal, with distinctive shark mouth bows, boast a whopping 75,000 horsepower and do not tread lightly in the Northern Sea.

Part of the only nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet in the world, the 50 Years of Victory and Yamal not only break trail for shipping routes but also act towboats when vessels are captured by the ice. Make no mistake the 50 Years of Victory and Yamal are all business and with shark teeth painted on the bow, it’s easy to see why the ice doesn’t stand a chance.
