If you could imagine a place where James Dean and Steve McQueen would gear up for a long motorcycle trip, it would be the Revival Cycles retail shop located on Austin’s iconic South Congress Avenue within the South Congress Hotel. The place is a stunner and a destination for anyone interested in the moto-life.

Dean and McQueen would undoubtedly approve.

But before we get into the store, we have to mention the East Austin workshop where the company was born.  After a stint in the tech industry, founder Alan Stulberg took a motorcycle trip through Europe, and afterward, he decided a return to the 9 to 5 life he previously lived wasn’t going to be possible. So he started Revival Cycles as a restoration shop and custom motorbike manufacturer. A few years later, he started The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show, which draws thousands to Austin every year to showcase and celebrate the craftsmanship, knowledge, and skill of the people hand-building machines across the country.

From the workshop sprung the Revival Cycles retail store, a natural lifestyle extension of the brand, where motorcycle enthusiasts can get clothing, gear, and even parts for their bikes. The store has towering floor-to-ceiling windows, a large spiral staircase, and a second-story loft. But the real showstoppers are the vintage bikes suspended from the ceiling like a life-size mobile. Of course, the Revival team designed and hand-built the entire place themselves with the utmost attention to detail just like on their restorations and custom builds.

The store carries only the products that the Revival squad would use in their own adventures, like a lineup from the Dutch brand REV’IT! which features gloves, jackets, jeans, overshirts, and footwear that look just as impressive while on the bike as off, to classic-inspired Hedon helmets, to their own line of leather goods called Revival Limited. They even offer magazines and other gifts and accessories to occupy the time of motorcycle fanatics when they’re not on a long ride with the wind in their face and an adventure ahead of them. Dean and McQueen would undoubtedly approve.
