Imagine a hotel where a butler waits on you hand and foot, seeing to your needs whether it be turndown service, bringing you a tea or coffee, shining your shoes, offering local advice, and packing and unpacking your suitcase. This isn’t a hotel fantasy of old; it’s exactly what you’ll find at The Spectator Hotel.

Set in Charleston’s historic district, The Spectator Hotel combines a modern take on 1920s glamour with the service of the Old South, hence a full-on butler service. The design is modern and new, without feeling stiff. The colorful – but muted – accents and the fashionable chairs allow for visitors to feel comfortable, while the mostly-white rooms makes one think of the finery and coziness of a Southern gentleman’s mansion.

the butlers of The Spectator Hotel are ready to fulfill your wishes.

The rooms feature luxurious linens, spa-like bathrobes, heated towel racks, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs. Take your welcome cocktail onto your wraparound balcony and watch as people stroll along State and Market Streets during the day or at night. Every morning, a gourmet continental breakfast is delivered to your room. Nespresso coffee and breakfast in bed, anyone?

When you manage to leave your comfortable room, head to the prohibition-style bar on-site. Grab a green leather stool and a Holy City Julep and chat with your neighbors. Charleston is part of the South, so you’ll make friends in no time. Hang out in the bar or explore the historic district with these new friends either on foot or with the hotel’s complimentary bikes.

The Spectator Hotel doesn’t need a pool or a gym to be complete. It has something more: service, care, and a style that’s sleek and stylish, or “dapper” as they might have said near the turn of the 20th century. Whatever you need – the butlers of The Spectator Hotel are ready to fulfill your wishes.
