Tucked away within the Fotografiska you’ll discover the bones of a 19th-century chapel, and thanks to some dedicated visionaries from the museum and NeueHouse, the church has now become the home to an exclusive members-only bar and lounge. Dim lit and striking in architectural appearance, Chapel Bar might be the most hauntingly cool vibe in all of manhattan.

The concept was born out of the admiration for the community, as Josh Wyatt—CEO of Fotografiska and NeueHouse— is keen on “bringing together a kindred member base who are passionate about pushing culture forward in their personal and professional lives, and we welcome the magic moments and passionate energy that will come from this gathering of minds and spirits.”

You’ll be saying your prayers when you feast your eyes on this cocktail menu, with spirits and concoctions dedicated to monks, priests, and influential figures. From exposed wood to the historic chandelier with a flickering glow, Chapel Bar is the new standard for modern design with a historical nod. If you’re looking for extra exclusivity, steer towards the VIP “Confessional” room.
