The NoMad Hotel

UNFORTUNATELY, CLOSED! NoMad Hotel New York is situated in a historic beaux arts building, this chic, Parisian-inspired hotel is a few blocks from the Museum of Modern Art. The hotel offers an array of selections for when it's time to break into the evening. The Elephant Bar and NoMad Bar ae two top-of-the-line choices in a city that has more options, than Jack Nicholson has Academy Awards.

A gentleman does not appear overnight. Neither clothes nor job make him a gentleman. He goes through multiple phases: acknowledging his wish to be a gentleman, adjusting his personality and habits, feeding his brain with knowledge of the world, and then putting all that in practice in real-life situations. A gentleman gives off the sense of refinery and confidence, while still being approachable.

If a hotel could be a gentleman, we’d say that very hotel was The NoMad New York.

The boutique hotel has a residential atmosphere with a style that is timeless, but poised, refined, and meticulously put together – like a gentleman.

The NoMad is a Beaux-Arts dame in the center of New York City. Its Midtown location is surrounded by all that a gentleman loves and knows – the Gramercy Theatre, Empire State Building, National Museum of Mathematics, and Madison Square Park (art, business, learning, and sports).

The boutique hotel has a residential atmosphere with a style that is timeless, but poised, refined, and meticulously put together – like a gentleman. This can be seen in the rooms, carefully curated to amplify the senses with the slightly worn leather chairs, plush white beds, collage of modern art work on the walls, and historic maple wooden floors complemented by exquisite rugs.

The antique wall dividers, clawfoot bathtubs, and mahogany French writing desks give the rooms a 1920’s feel, while modern amenities like flat-screen TVs, iHome docking stations, and minibars provide comfort to the 21st century man.

A gentleman’s stay at a hotel isn’t complete without a restaurant whose food tantalizes the taste buds. The NoMad Hotel has that in their restaurant, which is surrounded by a glass-enclosed atrium. The elegant menu includes a stellar wine selection and a menu of hearty food items inspired by cuisine of Switzerland, New York City, and California.

Our favorite space has to be the NoMad Bar, a library with a carefully curated selection of books. The mixologists offer classy cocktails which can be enjoyed among the literary genius of hundreds whose books fill the walls.

While there isn’t a lot of spaces in this boutique hotel, service excels in all areas. Amenities like laptops and iPads upon request and a state-of-the-art fitness center show care and attention to the needs of the modern traveler.

It’s the small things that make a gentleman. The way they treat others. The art with which they move through life. The NoMad New York knows this and embodies this concept, providing a gentlemanly stay.
