BY: Ryan Kirk Contributing writerWe are all familiar with earthquakes and the fact that San Francisco can tremble at any moment. A new fault line has been created in the form of a hotel, and it’s got the whole city shaking. The Zeppelin Hotel, located two blocks outside of Union Square, is decked out in vintage turntables, vinyl records, and far-out artwork. The guestrooms available for your grooving pleasure are modern contemporary with a splash of Rock and Roll.
If you start feeling a bit Dazed and Confused, it may be time for some grub and a cocktail. Head over to Rambler, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. When it comes to libations, you can’t go wrong with the Zeppelin Martini, featuring deep tracks from Monkey 47 Gin, Alessio Bianco, and cucumber bitters. Believe us, it tastes just as radical as it sounds.
You can only Ramble On at dinner for so long. When it’s time to shake things up, the bottom level is the hotel’s den, an event/game room with shuffleboard and billiards tables, a skeeball machine, a life-sized Bingo board, and a quick-shot basketball wall.
When The Levee Breaks and it’s time to get out for a bit, make sure and take advantage of their concierge service; with the quick download of an app, you can connect with their concierge at any time for reservations and suggestions. We recommend you hit a few of our CYTIES favorites: Chapel Hill Coffee Co. for a caffeinated boost or Whitechapel for the best gin cocktails on the West Coast, both of them less than a mile away.
When Going to California, there aren’t many better places to stay than The Zeppelin Hotel. Crash for a few nights and the walls might start chanting “Encore!” It’d be a rock n’ roll sin not to head down to the front desk and give the people what they want: ONE MORE NIGHT! ONE MORE NIGHT! ONE MORE NIGHT!
