Toasted Coffee and Kitchen is a Dallas Texas coffee shop specializing in caffeine and creative toasts. The shop is an airy, rustic-industrial space, and is perfect for grabbing breakfast, lunch, coffee, and something stiff if the time is right. This is one place where getting toasted is totally acceptable — even if you want to do it before work.

When Dallas got its first toast-themed restaurant, the city rejoiced, and for good reason. Who knew toast could be so good? I mean, toast is toast, right? Wrong! Not once the owner of Toasted Coffee + Kitchen got ahold of it. When this cafe/bar/coffeehouse combo opened its doors, toast was given new life.

They’re showing Dallas that staples as simple as toast and coffee are never quite what they seem.

This spacious open-style hot spot in the Lower Greenville neighborhood is a little bit bar, a little bit coffeehouse, and a whole lot of good stuff all under one roof. The industrial-designed interior offers tons of space to do whatever suits you, whether you want to hole up in a corner with your laptop or kick back with a bunch of friends for drinks. You can even bring your four-legged homeboy and hang out on the temperature-controlled pet-friendly patio.

The colorful wooden table tops and metal trays create an eclectic vibe that fits right into this trendy neighborhood, where stores like Good Records sell vintage LPs and Wednesday nights are the perfect time to catch a screening of “Wayne’s World” on the rooftop of the nearby Granada Theater.

Stop in early for an all-day pick-me-up from one of their spot-on coffees, like a Noble Coyote Primal Coffee or a 2-oz. shot of Double Espresso. If you want your caffeine to sound healthier, grab a Super Freak smoothie with cold-brew coffee, bananas, and cinnamon, or go for the uber-healthy Stocks & Bondy, a tea-leaf infused bone broth beverage. House-made syrups like Lavender, Cardamom Rose, or Honey Rosemary take any of Toasted’s coffees to a whole new level of flavor.

When it comes to food, the savory avocado toast is damn good, hence the punny name Avo-Ca-Damn. Or you could go sweet with a slice of Coma-Toast, a buttered slice of Japanese-milk bread sprinkled with cinnamon. Bread is baked fresh on site and you’ve got a bunch of choices: wheat, country, rye, or Japanese-milk. There is even a gluten-free option, because Toasted aims to please.

Don’t let the cutesy names like Eggs In Jail bruise your ego. The breakfast is stellar, and of course everything comes with a slice of toast. A Toast To Gravy is a cool take on the traditional biscuits and gravy, minus the biscuits — because serving biscuits instead of toast would be shameful here! Breakfast is served all day (as it should be), but if you’re not into breakfast for dinner, there’s still plenty to fill your belly, like the open-faced Shrimp My Ride sandwich with arugula and pesto.

When it comes to dessert, Toasted continues to impress. Ice cream, crème brûlée, or bread pudding — it’s all good. Order the brownie if you must, but seriously? In a coffeehouse? Man up and get the affogato.

The bar is full and the drinks are awesome. Toasted’s talented bartenders take standard drinks like a Mule and make them memorable. Whether you want a cocktail, wine, or a draft beer, there is something to wet every whistle.

Accept your invitation from Toasted Coffee + Kitchen to join the toast revolution. They’re showing Dallas that staples as simple as toast and coffee are never quite what they seem.
