BY: Ryan Kirk Contributing writerSimply put, Seven Grand is the man cave we all dream of having one day, except it’s real — and equipped with bartenders. Located on Seventh Street and Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, Seven Grand provides a whiskey exhibition with a cabin-like atmosphere. It’s literally a hunting lodge fantasy, boasting deer antlers on the walls, live blues music, and more whiskey bottles than there are bras at a Mick Jagger concert.
Some of the bottles are probably more valuable than the diamonds once sold, so when picking your poison, have it on the rocks or keep it as neat as a jeweler’s ring display.
Outside, a large lit-up buck head stands out amongst the LA city lights, fiercely parading its dominance over the land it calls home. Make sure you aim straight and set your scopes towards the second floor, because you’re now a target shot away from some of the best whiskey in the City of Angels.
Inside, they’ve also managed to keep some of the old building’s original decor, showcasing bottles in vintage cases from the earliest owners, Brock & Co. jewelry emporium. Some of the bottles are probably more valuable than the diamonds once sold, so when picking your poison, have it on the rocks or keep it as neat as a jeweler’s ring display. Of course, no gentleman’s cavern is complete without a billiards table, so grab a stick between glasses and test your aim on a game of 9-ball.
This man cave is a dream you’ll never want to wake up from. With names like Buffalo Trace, The Glenroths, and Old Rip Van, you might start wondering if it really was a tree that old Rip Van Winkle fell asleep by. Maybe he just found himself in Tinseltown, captivated by that fierce green lit-up deer.
