There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “Pearls don’t live on the seashore. If you want one, you must dive for it.” This saying could be applied to many aspects of your life like traveling. We live in a fast-paced society where it’s easier to book a chain hotel than it is to look for a hotel that’s authentic and highly serves us as travelers. If you’re heading to San Diego and you don’t have much time to dive into the sea of hotels, don’t worry. We have found a true pearl.

The Pearl San Diego is a boutique motel property that’s refreshing in its cool and hip vibe, simply modern interiors, and amazing amenities. It’s a lively spot, and they don’t try to hide the fact. If you’re looking to mix and mingle and have fun, The Pearl is for you. If you want to sleep and not be bothered… we’re sure there’s a Hampton Inn somewhere nearby.

The action at The Pearl centers around the hotel’s oyster-shaped pool. It begins with the rooms, many of which have pool views and furnished patios. The vintage furniture and the platform beds are refreshing, while free Wi-Fi, desks, iHomes, and flat-screen TVs take care of the modern traveler’s needs. Bachelors will like The Gems, two rooms at The Pearl that have a masculine vibe, luxury bed linens, and a stunning mirrored ceiling.

There’s also pool patio seating and luxurious cabanas for guests who want an outdoor meal. With daily happy hours, discounts on days it rains, and specials on Monday and Tuesday, EAT takes care of guests and locals who like to eat and drink in a trendy spot.

The Pearl’s pool has an amazing reputation in San Diego as the place to be. Guests swim free, while locals join in with a purchase of a drink. Weekly “dive-in movies,” or movies screened at the pool, are packed with guests ordering food and drinks from EAT, lounging in chairs or on pool floaties, and enjoying a mix of classic, blockbuster, and indie films.

Amidst all the amenities, it’s easy to forget that The Pearl San Diego’s location is stellar, too. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the Gas Lamp Quarter, San Diego’s nightlife center, and a 15-minute walk to Shoreline Park, a wonderful place to run along the harbor in the mornings.

Dive into The Pearl San Diego. It’s an experience you’ll treasure.
