Cool and retro, Porchlight is a shop where coffee brews collide with the tunes of vinyl records. The neighborhood shop also offers are an array of pastries, breakfast tacos and cold beers. It's more than a stop and go, but a hang all day kind of joint.
When one thinks of Seattle, two things come to mind: abundant coffee and kick ass music. Up on Capitol Hill, Porchlight Coffee & Records serves up an orchestrated dose of both. At Porchlight, the espresso machine itself is a musical instrument, levers pulled and buttons pressed to mix together Herkimer Coffee that will send your day spinning as smoothly as a glossy vinyl.
cold brew that sets the beat to your week.
Inside is the perfect kind of chill setup to enjoy piping hot coffee over friendly debates of who witnessed the best show to ever take place at Neumos, or if Eddie Vedder will ever actually run for president one day. After you’ve selected your caffeine kick, flip through new and used records from all types of genres and snag a couple records to take home with you.
If you’re a record collector, we highly recommend checking out Porchlight’s own brand of slip pads, designed by Zach Bolotin to keep your record player at home handsome. Don’t know what a slip pad is? Well, then, Porchlight might not be the right place for you. Porchlight also offers take-home growlers or bottles of its own cold brew that sets the beat to your week.
Like a classic record player, Porchlight Coffee & Records is cool, retro, and sleek without even trying. And in these days of downloads and virtual clouds, it’s nice to know Seattle still has an untouchable record and coffee scene that will be around as long as the real clouds above the city.
We highly suggest coordinating your visit to compliment your coffee with some breakfast tacos from Sunrise, offered on the weekends
